What will you take?

So that it can be recycled please sort plastic and cardboard by type into separate bags:

1.   CLEAR PLASTIC FILM (clear shavings bales, shrink wrap etc.)

2.   SILAGE SHEET

3.   SILAGE WRAP

4.   PLASTIC FEED BAGS

5.   PAPER FEED BAGS

6.   WOVEN POLYPROPYLENE BAGS (eg Fertiliser Bags, Seed Bags etc)

7.   BALER TWINE

8.   NET WRAP

9.   PLANT TRAYS

10. DRY CARDBOARD

11. PLANT POTS

12. SPRAY AND DAIRY CHEMICAL CONTAINERS (lids in bag but not attached to cans, no foil caps)

The Environment Agency requires that spray and dairy chemical containers are cleaned by being at least triple rinsed.  Foils must be kept separate – we recommend that members store these for separate collection, under the Hazardous Waste scheme.

What we can’t take

Unfortunately we are unable to accept incorrectly sorted plastic & cardboard for collection as it cannot be recycled.

We take a common sense approach to water and dirt.  We acknowledge that the plastic you are recycling is coming from a farm and will inevitably have a small amount of water and dirt.  However, we areunable to recycle significant quantities of water, dirt, mud or dung, and excessively wet or contaminated plastic cannot be accepted.

Bags need to be kept under cover when filling and when awaiting collection.

If we subsequently discover that your plastic has either not been sorted correctly or is excessively wet or dirty either the bag(s) will be returned to you or we will correct the problem.  In either case we will charge you for the time and costs incurred.
